Hello,
My name is Arthur Klein and I am a video game artist.
I cannot confidently change the oil in my '85 Beamer, but I can capture the
subtle beauty of an elbow. I am very passionate about the creative process and
art in general. Since the days of creating custom levels for Excitebike, I've
known my life's calling. I've always studied game visuals in respect to their
affect on gameplay. In fact, I've probably spent more time watching games than
actually holding the controller. Having the job of fusing art and games together
has been a very rewarding puzzle. I feel lucky to enter into the adventure everyday.
I have had the privilege of being a game artist and I have been spoiled rotten.
The foundation of my abilities is my reliance on traditional training in color, value, composition, line, shape, and design in general. The past three and a half years in the video game industry have bolstered my drive to create high quality art as a tool to improve the overall game experience. My work as an artist has implanted in me strong senses for teamwork, ownership, and the ability to produce under heavy pressure. I know that the most successful teams have strong leadership and fluid communications. I believe that I would thrive as a member of most teams because of my positive attitude, focused work-ethic, and team-oriented dedication to a product.
I graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Computer Arts:Video Games
from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Although much of my artwork
reflects my passion for video games, it is not limited by it. I work daily to
observe and critically analyze my surroundings. My artwork is the application
of these observations. Even the fantastic has a basis in natural structure.
I believe that video games are quickly becoming the ultimate vehicle for the
artistic expression of the fantastic and the natural.
Thank you for taking the time to view my work.
